“Every vendor that will be at the show, I can wholeheartedly say, I trust this business or this vendor and would recommend them to you,” says creator of the Fleur Luxury Wedding Show, Ally Armstrong for Vancouver Magazine.
JW Marriot’s First Wedding Show
Dang Good Booths is grateful to have been apart of a wedding show the first of it’s kind in Vancouver. A pinterest wedding has become almost unrealistic, modern brides are looking at their favorite social media influencers for inspiration. Social media stars and lifestyle bloggers have made a large presence in the event industry and this wedding show is a marriage of the two, as explained by Armstrong. Armstrong is a principal planner, event designer, and pioneer for the lifestyle community and the professional industry. To help execute this marriage, Armstrong recruits Kaitlyn Bristowe, past Bachellorette but very present social media star. She has over a million followers eager to see what she would envision her big day to look like. By her side on the Fleur panel, Monika Hibbs, the creator of an inspirational lifestyle blog, were sure to share their opinions next to some industry professionals.
Inspiring and Interactive
Aside from the panel, there was a fashion presentation hosted by Blush Bridal in form of a fashion show. Throughout the show, there were French romance inspired accents. An Eiffel tower set the scene of the show as textures like lace and tulle graced the runways. The venue alone, JW Marriot Parq, draped in champagne velvet accentuated the florals that flooded the room – it smelled amazing.
Other than being aesthetically beautiful, there were interactive elements to Fleur. VIP packages allowed guests to get the experience of watercolor artistry by Love By Phoebe and caligraphy by Maurelle Caligraphy. For the bride with a creative itch and a vision only a DIY project can fulfill. Of course, our generous 10 feet of booth space made guests circuiting through our live demonstration, taking a photo with fun props and what our photo booth has to offer, a comfortable and effortless experience.
The same concept was created in another section of the show, a walk through of rooms that got inspiration from Paris, New York, Whistler and China. Each room was decorated top to bottom with Parisian cinematic romance, New York gold glamour, Whistler rustic warmth and Chinoiserie delicate details.
And if all of that didn’t make the brides the blush, the bubbly sure did it.
In the end, it wasn’t about getting as many booking as possible. It was an experience for Dang Good Booths. Experiencing the community ,that is the wedding industry, and seeing vendors putting their best foot forward, our favorites deserve some recognition. Eclat Decor and Debut Event Design Inc. were some of the many booths that had our attention, even from across the ballroom.
Speaking of recognition, Fleur didn’t forget the gents. For grooms, brothers of the bride and dads, Style by Sarai provided scotch tasting, rooftops views and all things suits.
